Position: Systems Technician

Position Reports To: Director of Systems Architecture

POSITION SUMMARY
The Systems Technician is a problem solver who must “think on his feet.” The required skill set must include the ability to troubleshoot and repair products and services of medium complexity. The Service Technician supports systems that include, but are not limited to, PC-based equipment (including peripherals), networks, servers, peripherals, printers, switches, and storage devices at customer locations.

TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

  • Supporting several diverse systems including, but not limited to: Windows operating systems for desktops and servers.
  • Network discovery and documentation.
  • Serve as a member of the support team for users on all hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support for hardware, software and communications.
  • Help with network administration and support.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED

  • Proven hands-on desktop support experience in a Windows OS environment (minimum two years).
  • Proven technical documentation skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Proven background in most of the following: network device support, enterprise back-up solutions, MS Office
  • support, Smartphone/PDA support, Linux support, and Macintosh support.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team
  • Familiarity with various tech-related forums and resources
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
  • High marks in the areas of Integrity, Performance, Work Ethic, Professionalism, Strategic Thinking and

LOCATION
Position available in Muncie, IN

HOURS
Available for 40+ hours per week

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations; must be mentally
