Maximizing Your Tweets – Twitter Infographic

Author: , Categories: Infographics

Buddy Media recently published a report titled “Strategies for Effective Tweeting: A Statistical Review.”  The report is based on the data compiled from their analysis of user-engagement from over 320 Twitter profiles managed by various brands.  Based on their data they make several recommendations for how best to maximize the use of Twitter as a business.

After reviewing the study we decided to convert it into an infographic using most of the data found within the report.  We focused on using the data that relates to some of the most common questions we receive from clients about Twitter best practices, including:

  • “When is the best time to tweet?”
  • “How can I increase engagement and conversation?”
  • “How can I get more people to retweet my tweets?”

Buddy Media’s full report can be found at http://bddy.me/twitterdatareport.  Please feel free to use and share this infographic by using the embed code below or at least providing a link back to this page.

Brilliant way to leverage data from a report and put your own spin on it. Great job!

Thanks for giving readers the information in a creative and succinct way! I love infographics! Do you have a particular program that you use?

    • John D. Fisher

Thanks, Kristin.  We didn’t use anything out of the ordinary to create the infographic, just standard design software like Illustrator.

It makes tweeting almost into a science.

Very nicely done! Just starting with making infographics myself and love how well you sum up the data here. And a fellow Hoosier! Yay! (ps – why no sharing buttons on your post? *frowns*)

Kudos to you on your Twitter ‘tips’ infographic. Graphically clear. Eye-appealing. Thanks much for thinking outside the box and ‘not cramming’ too much info into your ‘info-graphic.’

Nice infographic. Cannot access the main report though @ http://bddy.me/twitterdatareport.
    Is it just me?

    • Shuree

I can’t access the full report either. ??

I’m going to try the RT vs Retweet Amplification suggestion right away– if this works, this could be a game-changer. What a simple suggestion that’s right beneath our noses– like asking for referrals, really. Thx!

This inforgraphic was very timely – it was embedded in a post I saw. I used it to inject some reality into my comment on a @niemanlab post @ByDanielVictor that said hahstags were essentially useless and damaging. link: http://www.niemanlab.org/2013/03/hashtags-considered-harmful/

  • Magdalena

I’m confused by the hashtag statistics. How can tweets with hashtags have twice the engagment of tweets without (100% increase in engagement), and at the same time show only a 21% increase in engagement when 1-2 tags are used and a decrease in engagement when more tags are used? A 21% increase counterbalanced by a 17% decrease doesn’t seem like it can add up to a 100% increase overall.
