One of the best tools we’ve come across for Windows users is a simple freeware program called Photo Gadget Picture Resize. Long name, amazing results…and it’s FREE!

Photo Gadget Picture Resize allows you to right click on any image on your machine and quickly resize it to be web-ready. You can also batch resize photos by selecting them and then right-clicking.

Select your pictures in Windows Explorer, right-click on them, select Photo Gadget Picture Resize option and choose new picture size.

Step 2.
 Right-click on any picture file and choose Photo Gadget Picture Resize.
Step 3.
 In the Photo Gadget dialog choose the new size for your pictures and click Ok.
Done.

When resizing pictures with Photo Gadget you can choose one of four standard sizes or you can set any custom picture size.

If you need to resize your pictures to a custom size, choose Custom picture size option and type in new size in pixels. To keep proportions of the original image make sure that Keep aspect ratio option is checked.

A typical question that comes up is “can I just take a photo from my digital camera and upload it to my website?“. If you want the best possible experience for your website visitor, the answer is no.
